Chris Lydy

On December 12, 2022, Chris passed away from a cardiac event while training for his next run. We have chosen to celebrate his life and honor his memory through golf.

Chris's three great passions were his kids, coaching and golf. He began golfing at Mill Creek in high school and continued to play the course and many others as often as he could. He enjoyed hitting the links with friends in golf leagues, very early rounds with work buddies, or watching golf on TV. Chris was overjoyed the past few years as Dylan and his friends had been joining him on the links. This fall Chris created his own driving range in the sheep field, complete with painted fence post markers and "good grass" planted in the tee box.

In addition to running, Chris had many hobbies. He loved hanging out with the family, baking, collecting Funko Pops, driving "Stanley" his red MINI Cooper, caring for his koi fish and their pond he dug by hand, napping on the couch on Sunday afternoons with his "puppies" and working around the farm. I'm sure I have missed other things, but those are the things that come to mind when I think of what made Chis, Chris.

Chris loved coaching. Taylor and Dylan started playing sports at the age of three and never played a game without their dad on the sidelines. He moved to the stands as they got older to cheer them on from there. Chris was our family's constant cheerleader, supporter and quiet voice of reason...and funny comedian. As I'm sure most of you know he was full of dad jokes, movie quotes, 80's song lyrics and random sports facts and obscure sports highlights.
